Transfer to the airport for your flight to Lalibela (1 hr 20 mins). Upon arrival, start exploring the remarkable rock-hewn churches of Lalibela and visit the old village with traditional Tikul houses. Overnight in Lalibela.
Full day in Lalibela, visiting the remaining churches and monasteries outside Lalibela, and Naakuto Laab Cave church.
Excursion to some of the rock churches located outside Lalibela. The most famous ones are YimrehaneKiristos and Genete Mariam. Overnight at hotel.
Drive from Lalibela to Mekele, a distance of 314km. The whole day is required to cover this distance. On the way, enjoy the beautiful scenery, the countryside and the people. Overnight in Mekele.
Drive to Gheralta, one of the most striking sites in Ethiopia. Along the way we will visit some of the rock churches in the region, such as Mikael Imba, Wukro Cherkos, and Abreha we Atsbeha. Overnight in hotel.
We will spend the full day in Gheralta, visiting two of the rock churches Debre Tsion and Mariam Papasit. Overnight in hotel.
Another full day in Gheralta, visiting Abune Yemata and Mariam Korkor. Overnight in hotel.
Drive to Axum, and on the way visit the 7th century Muslim settlement in Ethiopia and the oldest temple of the moon, Yeha. Overnight in hotel.
We will spend a full day sightseeing in Axum that will include Stele, which is carved out of a single granite stone during the pre-Christian era, the palace and tombs of kings, and both the old and new St. Mary Churches. We will also see the palace of the legendary Queen Sheba. Overnight in hotel.
In the morning we will transfer to the airport for your flight back to Addis Ababa.
We will spend the day sightseeing in Addis Ababa and shopping. In the early evening, we will have a coffee ceremony to celebrate our experience together. We will complete the evening by dining together for our farewell dinner at a traditional restaurant with folklore music and dancing.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
A nonrefundable deposit of $1200 per person is required at time of booking. We recommend you reserve your spot as soon as possible. You can pay your deposit by Bank Wire Transfer. Bank details will be provided upon registration.The tour will be confirmed 8 weeks prior, on February 4, 2017. Please do not make any travel arrangements to Ethiopia before we have confirmed the tour. Full payment is due when the tour is confirmed.
